Welcome all you Blog Hoppers!

Hopefully you're enjoying the Outta This Funk "Blog Hop" today! There's definitely a lot of inspiration showing up on everyone's blogs. You probably got to mine from Lori's (icutthescrap.blogspot.com). Your next stop on the list is Becki's blog http://ckmommy.blogspot.com/. There are eight more stops to make on this blog hop!

I'm posting one of the smaller projects I've made, but also one of my favorites. This started with a $1 wooden box from Michaels. (See above). I painted it blue, then added a light overcoat of white and sanded it a bit for a weathered look. On the inside, I added a small photo of my son at the beach on one side, and some pp and a clear sticker sentiment on the other side. Then I added some seashells, fibers, tiny beads, and a little bottle of sand (clear microbeads). I keep this out in my workroom and it always makes me smile!

Hope you enjoyed this project and are inspired to make a miniature shadow box of your own!

Scrap Attack University!

If you're interested in taking better photos and/or using software to improve your photos, join us over at ScrapAttackScrapbooking.com for our first "Scrap Attack U"! Kelly & Laurie are posting a series of lessons with lots of good information and examples. (No charge - just join us in the forum!)

Blog Hop!

If you're interested, join us Saturday for the "Outta This Funk" community blog hop. There are 20 members in the blog hop. Everyone will post something they've made (card, page, altered object) on their blog, along with a link to the next person's blog. Should be lots of inspiration and ideas to be shared!
A couple of layouts I did this week. Ever since taking the "Got Sketch" classes, I've grown fonder of the kraft cardstock background. It's casual & neutral and goes well with lots of colors.

Week 4/6/09

A few layouts from this week. Went way back into the old photo boxes for this photo of my kids in 1988, when they were just 5 and 7, and LOVED to play with this microphone (and their keyboard, too!) This is based on one of Becky Fleck's April PageMaps.

The next page is DD's best friend, who is spending six months in Alaska with DD while DSIL is in Iraq (thanks, Tara!) We tried to get her setup with some cold weather gear at Christmas, including this awesome knit cap. (OK....I didn't think she'd actually wear the hat....I was wrong!)

The last page is my DD, my sister and my nieces playing Mall Madness on New Year's Eve. This was one of my daughter's favorite games when she was a kid. Who knew it would make a comback 15 years later?

Lots of snow!

Triple the Sketch is celebrating their first birthday this weekend! I used some photos my DD sent me for this layout, using their sketch #51. These are my dd's friends, shoveling snow for her (she has good friends!) 32" of snow in her front yard! Her best friend (in the photo) is up there with her - I'm not sure she was ready for this much snow, LOL!
