Is it Spring yet?

I bought the new Pink Paislee Soiree line last week (using up my Archivers gift card from Christmas - thanks, sis!) and decided that this bright colorful line would be perfect for some Spring decor. I had an idea for this wall hanging, and since Fantabulous Cricut's challenge this week was to create a Spring project, that was the incentive I needed to get going.

I used Gypsy Wanderings for the word "Spring", and Lacy Labels for the background shape and also for the two tags. The tulips, birdhouse, butterfly, bird and branch are all from Create a Critter. I used the Cuttlebug polka dot folder on the large white background shape, and the Swiss dots folder on the two tags.

The final touches were some penwork around the edges, and the pink bows and pearls. This is something that can easily be changed around for each season...now to think of what images to user for Summer! :)

March 28th Sassy Lil Card Sketch

This week's sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches is another great one!

Once again, I got to work with some awesome products from Nikki Sivils "Summer" line. For this card, I used the "Summer Minis" and "Summer Sunshine" papers and the rainbow from the "Summer Cutups" sheet. I added a little glitter pen to the cloud on the rainbow, and a rub-on sentiment. This pink gridded "Sunshine" paper is one of my absolute favorite papers - I hated to use it up, LOL!

We'd love to see your creations this week. Please link them up to the Sassy Lil Sketches blog for a chance at the March sponsor prize!

We all scream for ice cream!

One more project using the Nikki Sivils "Summer" collection. I used my leftover pieces for this page of my DGD with her favorite treat - ice cream!

Sassy Lil Sketches' layout

Even though I'm on the Sassy Lil Sketches card design team, I love to use their layout sketches, too. This page is based on their March 14th page sketch, which you can find here.

All the pp's, diecuts and stickers on this page are from our March sponsor, Nikki Sivils, and her "Summer" line.

You can win a prize from one of this month's sponsors. All you need to do is make a page based on one of the March sketches, and then link it back to the Sassy Lil Sketches blog. Hope you do that - we'd love to see your work!

March 7th Sassy Lil Card Sketch

Have you seen this week's sketch @ Sassy Lil Card Sketches? If not, here it is:

Even though this isn't my week for the DT sketch assignment, I really wanted to use some of the sponsor items we received from Nikki Sivils, so I made this card, using the Nikki Sivils "Summer" line. Even though the name of this line is "Summer", I thought it worked well for a Spring card. This has to be one of my favorite lines ever from Nikki!

If you use this week's sketch, be sure to post a link on the Scrappy Lil Card Sketch blog, so you have a chance to win this month's prize from Nikki Sivils!

A glimpse at the past

I found an old photo of my dad and my grandpa, probably taken sometime around 1956 or 1957. It was a little wrinkled and torn, but I was able to fix it up in Photoshop Elements (love being able to do that!) and used it on this scrapbook page. I really love looking at and working with old family photos....I love getting a glimpse of the past or bringing back old memories.

Have a Beary lucky St. Patrick's Day!

I made this card for the challenge at Crafting with Cristina. The challenge was to make a project for St. Patrick's Day and to use the color green. I used a digital stamp from ProvoCraft, and colored it with Copics and Sharpie markers, with a little accents from Copic Spica glitter pens. I used my Cricut for the shamrocks (Paper Doll Dress Up @ 1") and the background shapes (Lacy Labels, cut at 4" and 4.187" for the shadow). I just bought Lacy Labels but I think it's going to become one of my favorite cartridges!

Lucky St. Patricks Day card

This card is for the March challenge @ Really Reasonable Ribbon. I used a Jenni Bowlin bingo card, scraps of green pp and cardstock, some buttons, ribbon and ink. The shamrock is a Cricut cut (Paper Doll Dress Up, cut at 1") that was covered in glitter. Even though we don't have a drop of Irish blood in our family, I still like to send St. Patrick's Day cards....it's just a fun holiday!
