BBTB contest

BBTB2 is running a contest sponsored by Matilda stamps. To enter, you need to make a project with any Cricut cut, plus some stamping. Perfect chance to use this cute flamingo digital stamp from PC Hug Club!

The green scallop frame is from Wild Card, cut at 3.75", and the flowers were cut at .75" from Mickey & Friends.

So sorry to be a day late posting this! I thought I had this setup to automatically post but nope---a case of operator error!

This month's card sketch at SassyLilSketches was such fun to work with! Lots of layers, which I don't always do on a card, but I loved the finished look!

Hope you're inspired to make a card with the sketch. Be sure to post it on the SLS blog - we'd love to see your work!

Fantabulous Cricut - April Showers Challenge

This week's challenge at was to make a project that had something to do with rain or water. I chose to make a little wallhanging using A Child's Year.

The girl with the umbrella was cut from blue cardstock, at 6", then I added yellow cardstock underneath so I really used the negative part of the image. I cut the scallop square from yellow cardstock at 8", and then trimmed the outside to get a 9.5" square frame for the image. Everything was backed with chipboard and then I just added some penwork, the stamped sentiment, and some b&w ribbon.

Here's a closeup view, so you can see the stamped sentiment and the "raindrops" added to the image. The stamp is from Back Porch Memories, and the I used Glass Effects Gel to make the little raindrops.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #4

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to create a project with flowers and the word "happy". I went way back into the archives for a photo of me around age four and created this scrapbook page.

The flowers were cut at 1" and 1.5" from the Walk In My Garden cartridge, and then mounted onto circles punched from patterned paper. I used the All Mixed Up cartridge for the word "happy", using the fit-to-length feature on the Expression to size it to fit on the right side of my page. The photo was matted on a paint chip swatch, which is a fun object to add to a page every now and then.

You can check out the challenge and all the DT examples here!

Story Time - 3/28 Sassy Lil Sketches page sketch

This sketch was perfect for these photos of Grandpa reading to Gracie. She loved looking at this book and feeling all the different textures on the pages!

Project 12 - March layout

Here's my March layout for Project 12. I really like the idea of capturing a few random memories for each month, and scrapping some of the pictures I might not otherwise have worked with. All the papers from this came from the March Medley kit from Back Porch Memories.
