Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #3

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut was to use some bling on your project, along with at least one Cricut cut. For my project, I made a little purse that can be used to hold a small present or a gift card.

The cartridge I used was Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and the purse was cut using the "fit to page" option, which ended up being around 7.25". I traced the front tab and the top portion onto pink cardstock and embossed that with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and adhered it onto the purse. Once the purse was assembled, I added a cardstock handle and some Bazzill adhesive gems to the front for my "bling".

Hope you play along with the challenge this week - we'd love to see your creations!

Gracie loves to get her hands on the laptop....and I love getting her little "spam" emails, LOL!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #2

This week's challenge on Fantabulous Cricut was to create an Easter project using pastel colors. Since I don't have many Easter decorations, I decided to make one for the challenge.

I started with a tall rectangular paper mache wine bottle holder ($3 @ Hobby Lobby) which I painted white, and then covered with pp. I used a border punch to make the top & bottom white borders.

The cartridges used on this project were:
Base Camp (exclamation point, which was the carrot)
Doodlecharms (bunny head)
George (ovals for bunny paws)
Walk in my Garden (happy)
Paper Pups (Easter)

I used Design Studio to size all the items, using the "hide contour" feature to avoid cutting the dot on the exclamation point and the word "yappy" from the Easter sentiment on Paper Pups. Here's a look at the Design Studio screen, so you can get an idea of the sizes:

Each image was cut from cardstock and then again from chipboard to give it a little more body. The carrot was embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Strips folder and then shaded with chalk around the edges. I also used chalk on the bunny ears and cheeks. I adhered the bunny head and paws to the carrot, adding some felt ribbon for the carrot top, and then attached everything to the paper mache box with foam adhesives squares to give it some dimension. All that was left was to add a bunch of silk tulips and there you have a finished Easter decoration!

Hope you join us at Fantabulous Cricut this week so we can see your Easter projects!

Scrap Attack Sketch Challenge

For this month's sketch challenge at Scrap Attack, I used these photos of Gracie in her UC Bearcat uniform....cheering on the Bearcats during the Sugar Bowl game in January (unfortunately, it didn't help them win!) I think red might be her color!

ScrapSketch March layout

This page is based on the last sketch from ScrapSketch. I just love these closeup photos of Gracie in her Christmas sleeper!

Time for another Sassy Lil Sketch

This week's sketch is a great multi-photo page. Hope you'll try this one and post it over at Sassy Lil Sketches, so we can see your work!
