This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to make a project showing some type of cool summer treat....with an optional challenge to make your project a shaped card.
Well, I didn't end up with a shaped card, but I did make a card with a cool glass of lemonade, one of my favorite summer treats. (And as hot and humid as it's been in Ohio lately, a cool glass of lemonade sounds awfully good right now!)
The base card is yellow cardstock, with some yellow & white pp on top. The lemonade was cut at 4.25" from Just Because Cards. I cut the image shadow from white cardstock, the base image from white cardstock, and then yellow cardstock for the lemonade and the lemon. I cut the base image a second time from a transparency, trimming off everything but the glass itself, and then ran that through the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder. This became the top layer so it would look like a drinking glass. I frosted the top edge of the "glass" with some dimensional glue and chunky clear glitter, so it would like the top edge of the glass was dipped in sugar.
The scallop border is an EK Success punch, and then I added ribbon and some MM flower brads.
Please check out the other DT projects and join us in this week's challenge. Post your project on the FCCB site for a chance at this week's prize. Hope you enjoy this week's "cool" challenge!
