Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #19 - Christmas in July

This week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to create a Christmas project. It's only five months til Christmas, and that time will go quickly....especially if you have a list of craft projects you want to get done before the holidays!

Several years ago, I made ornaments to put on all my holiday packages. I've always wanted to do that again, but run out of time every year. So I took this week's challenge as an opportunity to get started on a few ornaments.

I used George and Basic Shapes for the ornament base, cutting a 4" square from cardstock (the back), ppaper (the front), and chipboard (the middle). The pp was adhered to the front of the chipboard square, then I cut cinnamon sticks to fit and adhered them around the edges with tacky tape. (Added bonus here - those cinnamon sticks smell wonderful!) Ribbon hangers were adhered to the back of the chipboard, and then cardstock was adhered to cover the ribbon ends and the back of the chipboard.

The image for the Santa hat ornament was cut at 3", from Joys of the Season. I added some glitter snow dimensional paint to the cuff and tassel on the hat, a 'ho ho ho' rubon, and some red and green clear dot accents.

The wreath was cut at 3" from Joys of the Season, then a ribbon bow and some red pearls were added as accents, and a "joy" button was adhered to the center.

The snowman was cut at 3" from Speaking of Winter. I cut the prongs off some snowflake brads and adhered them to the ornament, and then added some small bells to the ribbon hanger (and some tiny google eyes to the snowman, just for fun).

Hope you can join us in this week's challenge and get in the holiday spirit early this year!
