My project is an easy way to make some holiday décor pieces. I started with 4x4 and 4x6 images cut from scrapbook paper. The images I used are from Simple Stories. I adhered the paper images to some heavy weight cardstock, and then cut and hot glued cinnamon sticks to make the frame. You want to use cinnamon sticks made for crafting, not the ones made for cooking.
I added a wooden snowflake to one image and arranged these with some other holiday decorations. If you prefer, you can add some twine or ribbon before gluing down the cinnamon sticks and make ornaments. If you don't have any paper with these journaling-card size images, you can use any patterned paper and add diecuts, stickers, or stamping to fit your style.
