Gina K's January Monthly Mix Challenge

I'm playing along for the first time with Gina K Designs monthly mix challenge.  This month's challenge was to create a card using only a sentiment stamp - no image stamps and no patterned paper.  This was a challenge for me, as I don't have many large sentiment stamps.

I ended up going for a Christmas card with a longer sentiment that I really love.  This is from Gina K Designs "Festive Frame" stamp set.

The sentiment was stamped on Gina K's layering weight cardstock with black ink.  I smeared some Versamark ink on the kraft cardstock, then sprinkled with some gold embossing enamel.  The embossing enamel is way too chunky for regular image/sentiment embossing, but it worked well for this background.  Then I diecut a rectangle from the center, and inserted the stamped sentiment behind the kraft panel.  The embossing enamel gives a nice shine and texture to the card and focuses attention on the sentiment panel.

Gorgeous with the black and gold grungy pattern on the kraft. Great choice of sentiment too.
