Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog - July challenge

Here we are in July, and it's time for a new monthly challenge at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog!

For my project this month, I made two cards with just one diecut, using the positive and negative images from the die.   This was a technique featured in the Spring Card Camp class at Online Card Classes earlier this year.

I used my Cricut to die cut the merry & bright sentiment from white 80 lb cardstock, but you could use any word die (or image die for that matter) that you have.  For the card on the right, I used a red cardbase and adhered a small piece of gold glitter cardstock in the center so it would show through the diecut words.   The white diecut piece was adhered over that with foam tape so it pops up a bit, and then I applied a few sequins around the front of the card.

The card on the left started with some 6x6 patterned paper, cut down to 4 x 5.25".   I diecut the sentiment two more times and then adhered all three sentiments so it would have some dimension.  It's easier for me to build up layers of cardstock on these smaller diecuts, rather than try to cut foam tape to fit behind the diecuts.   The sentiment was adhered to the front of the card and I added some white Wink of Stella overtop for a bit of shimmer.

You have all month to link your Christmas project to the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog.  We'd love to have you join us!
