September Merry Little Christmas Challenge

It's the first of the month, so time for another Merry Little Christmas Challenge.  We're heading into the home stretch - less than four months until Christmas!

I made two cards for this month's challenge.  Both of these came out of a project that was an epic fail when I tried using alcohol lift ink.  I used shades of blue and violet to make an alcohol ink background, but just couldn't get a good image with the alcohol lift ink. When that didn't work, I tried dry embossing the background, but I wasn't happy with that look either.  I was ready to just toss the inked background into the trash when I decided to die cut some snowflakes out of it.  The diecut snowflakes were pretty, and the leftover negative piece even worked out for a second card.

The card on the right uses the diecut snowflakes, adhered to white glitter cardstock.  I added a few gem stickers to the snowflake centers.  The card on the left uses the negative piece from the die cutting, backed with silver metallic paper.  I used foam tape to pop up that piece over a piece of silver metallic cardstock that was dry embossed with snowflakes.  Sentiment stamps are from Taylored Expressions and Winnie & Walter.

We hope you get a chance to join in with our September challenge at Merry Little Christmas Challenges.  You have all month to post your Christmas project and we'd love to see your work!
