February challenge at Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog!

It's time for a new monthly challenge at the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog.

Since we have a few months to get ready for Christmas, it's a good time to experiment with new techniques on your Christmas cards.  I decided to try a new fold style for some cards, and ended up making a couple of bridge-fold cards.

This was a new style for me, as I hadn't heard of bridge folds before.  You can find lots of photos and tutorials on the internet, but the tutorial I used is by Lyssa Zwolanek and you can find it here.

Here's my first bridge fold card, using papers from Pinkfresh and stamps and dies from Avery Elle.

I love these stamps, with the "ho ho ho" attached to Santa's hat and the cute little penguin.  The images were colored with Copic markers and then I added a little Stickles and Wink of Stella for some shine.

Since you get two card bases from one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock, I decided to make another bridge fold card, using dies instead of stamps.

The background paper is from Photo Play, the nativity scene dies are from Our Daily Bread and the sentiment stamp is from Art Gone Wild.   I die the cut nativity scene twice, using 110# cardstock from PaperTrey Ink and adhered them together for more stability, since this is a fairly delicate die.  I added a strip of brown Stardream cardstock at the bottom.

You have all month to join in the Merry Little Christmas February challenge.  We hope to see you there!
