Mix It Up Challenge Blog - November/December challenge

It's November 1st and time for a new Mix It Up Challenge!   This time the challenge is to make anything but a card.  I thought about doing a scrapbook page or a gift box, but then found this tutorial for an easy but cute treat holder.   Please check out Miss Tracy Creates on YouTube for her video tutorial.

I used some Fall themed papers for these treat pockets, so they could be used at table settings for Thanksgiving.  Here's the finished project:

These little treat holders only involve paper folding, no glue, tape or stitching.  You start with a 6x6 square of patterned paper.  Fold that in half to get a triangle.

Take the bottom left corner and fold it up and over to touch the right side.  Make sure the top edge is straight.   Then take the bottom right corner and fold it up and over to meet the left edge of the first folder.

The very top triangle is two layers.  Fold down the top layer, then gently pull the pocket out a bit to create your treat holder.  I added stickers to mine, but you could leave them as is, or add a name if you want to use these as place cards.  Please check out Miss Tracy Creates for her video tutorial.  She shows Christmas themed treat pockets.

The Mix It Up challenge runs for six weeks, so I hope you get a chance to join in.  We'd love to see what your creative minds come up with!
