Cards in Envy - favorite holiday

The current challenge at Cards in Envy is to make a card celebrating your favorite holiday.  Well, even though I love Halloween, Christmas is by far my favorite holiday!   Here's my Christmas card:

Sentiment stamp: My Favorite Things - Pine cone stamps:  Stampers Anonymous

I stamped the sentiment with red ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.  The images were stamped in black ink, then colored with Tombow markers.  The edges were embossed with gold embossing enamel.  This was the first time I had used that product, and I ended up with some embossing speckles in the top right corner.  It actually added to the rustic look of the card, so I just added a few sprinkles of copper mist to make the speckles look more intentional, LOL!  The stamped card front was adhered to a brown shimmery card, which blends nicely with the pine bough stamps.

Happy Fall!

For this card, I used stamps from My Favorite Things(mice & leaves) and Lawn Fawn (tree and sentiment).  The images were stamped with Gina K's Amalgam ink and then colored with Copic markers.  I used Distress Oxide inks around the edges.

I'm entering this in these challenges:

A couple of cards from Tuesday Morning Sketches

Here is this week's sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches (#414):

I had a couple of background pieces from Sandy Allnock's Watercolor Backgrounds class so I decided to use those for a couple of Christmas cards based on this sketch.

On the first card, I used some large and small snowflake sequins instead of the three brads/buttons on the sketch.   Then on the second card, I used one sequin and a stamped snowman image in place of the three buttons.  I also added a piece of glitter transparency over the watercolor background piece on the second card, so it's very sparkly.

I'm also entering these in the current Cards in Envy challenge to use blue or pink on your cards.

Congrats! card

I made this card for two challenges:   the current challenge at Less Is More (use mainly teal on your card) and the current challenge at Cards in Envy (keep it simple)

Teal isn't one of my "go to" colors, but I did have some new ink from Catherine Pooler inks that worked for the color challenge.  The background paper is some older Basic Grey, and I added just a little bit of gold Nuvo glitter drops.

If you have a chance, check out all the DT cards and entries on both blogs - there are some reallyl gorgeous cards on display!

Cards in Envy - Snowbirds challenge

This is the first time I've joined a challenge at Cards in Envy, but I've always loved seeing the cards from their blog.  This challenge is to create a card with a bird and some snow.  So, here's my first Christmas card of 2017!

The stamps are from two different Hero Arts stamp sets, colored with Copic markers, and then the snowflakes were stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with glitter embossing powder.
