Another card for the Paper Smooches challenge!

When I was experimenting with embossing folders and Versamark ink for the Paper Smooches Sparks inspiration challenge, I made two different backgrounds, using the Versamark ink on different sides of the embossing folder.  This gave slightly different looks, as the blue embossing was on the raised portion of one background and the embossed portion of the other.  For this card, I used the part with the heat embossing on the indented portions of the dry embossed folder.

I used the Paper Smooches Notebook Scallop Die to cut the grid paper, and then stamped the greeting from Paper Smooches' Chit Chat set and colored in part of the image with Copic markers.  I added a little black office supply clip, but snipped it in half first so it wouldn't be so bulky.

I'm entering this card in the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge and also in The Pink Elephant's challenge #268 to use embossing.

A "picture perfect" challenge @ Paper Smooches Sparks

Paper Smooches Sparks is hosting a photo inspired challenge right now.  Here is the photo:

And here is my card inspired by the vase on the left, because I just loved that turquoise blue and orange combination
:

To make the background, I inked up a paisley Sizzix embossing folder with Versamark ink, inserted a piece of orange cardstock into the folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug.  Then I sprinkled turquoise embossing powder over the orange cardstock, so it would adhere to the inked areas, and heat embossed it.  The banner, sentiment, flowers and leaves were also heat embossed with Versamark and the same turquoise embossing powder.

The Paper Smooches stamps I used were from the Streamers set (banner), Chit Chat set (sentiment), and Needle Little Love set (flowers and leaves).  I added some white enamel dots to the flower centers.

Two smiling girls

Love this photo of my DD and DGD!  Sometimes a certain 5-year old girl doesn't like to cooperate with Grandma and her camera.....but she did smile for this photo with her mom! :)

I used some stamps and dies from Paper Smooches on this page:  the hearts and sentiment are from the "Needle Little Love" and "FOLKal Points" stamps sets.  The stitching lines on the banner and on the photo border are from the "Stitched" and "Dots & Dashes" dies.  You can see all these items at Paper Smooches.

This page is for the Got Talent challenge to use a doily on your page.  My Scraps & More is sponsoring the Got Talent challenges this summer, with weekly prizes and one grand prize at the end.  It's a lot of fun, so why not check out the My Scrap & More message board and join in!
I'm also entering this page in the Paper Smooches Sparks "anything goes" challenge this week.

Paper Smooches Sparks challenge

This is a card made with the Paper Smooches Needle Little Love stamp set.  I love this set, mainly because of this "hi" sentiment, and all the little stitch stamps that are included.  The little flowers are also from the set; I just added some center stitching with crochet thread.

This is for the May "Anything Goes" challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks!

4 Crafty Chicks and Paper Smooches challenges!

I hate to get my hopes up, but we just might be heading towards spring (finally!) here in Ohio!  With that in mind, I used some of my new Paper Smooches stamps to make this "hello" card with a nice spring green tree.

Cardstock:  Neenah; Patterned Paper:  Crate Paper; Stamps:  Paper Smooches; Ink:  Ranger (coffee); Memento (Bamboo Leaves) & Hero Arts (Green Hills); Twine: Doodlebug

The tree and sentiment are from the "Gently Seasoned" stamp set.  I kept it clean and simple with just one strip of patterned paper and a twine bow.

I'm entering this card in the Paper Smooches Sparks "Anything Goes" challenge and in the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #185 - Trees.
