Love to Scrap Challenge #42 - Say It in Color

Time for our mid-month challenge @ Love to Scrap!  This time we want to see a stamped, die cut or printed sentiment in any color EXCEPT black or white.  (And, as always, you need to use a rubber or digi stamped image on your project.)

For my card, I stamped the sentiment with gold metallic ink, then embossed it with chestnut embossing powder. 

 

One fabulous thing about this card is that all the papers are printed from digital files!  I used the Fall Foliage Paper Pack from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet, one of our sponsors for this challenge.  I just printed these on some white cardstock and trimmed them to fit the layer sizes, diecutting an opening in the yellow dot print to show off the stamped image.  A great thing about digital paper files is that you can use them over and over, so you don't have to worry about running out of a particular patterned paper.

I love getting together with family for dinner and games, watching the Macy's parade in the morning while I'm cooking, and watching football in the evening, and just taking time to be thankful for all our blessings!

 

I'm also entering the "Brads Buttons and/or Bows" challenge at Sentimental Sundays. The challenge is to use multiple of one or more of the specified items.  I used a lot of tiny brads on this card, plus a ribbon and a twine bow. 

Let's Celebrate!

It's the first warm, sunshiny day we've had in Ohio in a long time, and it made me want to break out the bright colors and create something cheery!  I used some stamps and dies from Paper Smooches and some neon inks from Hero Arts to create this card.

 

Paper Smooches:  Balloons dies, Kissables 2 stamp set, Geo-Graphic stamp set, Off the Charts stamp set, Scripty Sayings stamp set -  Hero Arts neon orange, pink, blue and green inks - Ranger archival ink in black - Rock Candy Distress stickles

 

I die cut the balloons from white cardstock, stamped them with neon inks and adhered with foam adhesive for a little dimension.  The background for the sentiment was stamped with blue neon ink, and then the sentiment was stamped over top with black archival ink and fussy cut.  I added some doodled balloon strings, a twine bow, and some little plastic dots made from melted perler beads.

A Pocketful of Thanks!

My friend Leslie is the Guest Designer this week over at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog, so I wanted to play along with her challenge.  The challenge is to use hand cutting on your project - no diecuts allowed.  Here's my card for the challenge:

 

I used stamps from WPlus9 on this card, stamping the flowers and sentiment directly on the white cardstock.  The jeans pocket was stamped on white cardstock, and then I cut around the image and mounted it with some foam tape.  The flowers were inked with Butter Bar ink from Hero Arts, and then I inked around the edges of the flower stamp with Pale Tomato ink from Hero arts, to get the shaded effect on the flowers.

Sentimental Sundays challenge

This week's challenge @ Sentimental Sundays is to create a project with a tag.  I used a technique from the Paper Smooches class in True Stamp 2013 last month (side note - this was SUCH a great event; I highly recommend it!).

The tag was laid on the card front, and one butterfly was stamped on the tag and the other was stamped partially on the tag and partially on the card front.  The images and sentiment were stamped in Versamark and embossed with Zing white embossing powder.  I colored them with Copic markers and colored pencils, and then added some pearls to the butterflies.  I added a punched border to the tag bottom and then adhered it to the card front with foam adhesive for a dimension.
