Thankful

This card came about from a foiling project that didn't work out like I planned.   I stamped the background stamp with ink, and then stamped it again with Deco Foil Transfer Gel,, applied some gold foil and ran it through the laminator.  Evidently I didn't have enough gel on the stamp because the foil only adhered in placed.

I really liked the look of the background even if it wasn't what I had expected, so I added a die cut sentiment and some stamped and fussy cut leaves and ended up with this Fall card.   (The die and stamps are from Catherine Pooler)   I'm entering this card into the current challenge at Addicted to Stamps (use Autumn colors) and Crafty Creations Challenges (anything goes)

Love to Scrap Challenge #42 - Say It in Color

Time for our mid-month challenge @ Love to Scrap!  This time we want to see a stamped, die cut or printed sentiment in any color EXCEPT black or white.  (And, as always, you need to use a rubber or digi stamped image on your project.)

For my card, I stamped the sentiment with gold metallic ink, then embossed it with chestnut embossing powder.

One fabulous thing about this card is that all the papers are printed from digital files!  I used the Fall Foliage Paper Pack from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet, one of our sponsors for this challenge.  I just printed these on some white cardstock and trimmed them to fit the layer sizes, diecutting an opening in the yellow dot print to show off the stamped image.  A great thing about digital paper files is that you can use them over and over, so you don't have to worry about running out of a particular patterned paper.

Link up your project to the Love to Scrap Challenge blog for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to  Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet or a $10 gift certificate from our second sponsor, Sweet Stamps!

I'm also entering this card in the "Favorite Holiday" challenge at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards.  Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love getting together with family for dinner and games, watching the Macy's parade in the morning while I'm cooking, and watching football in the evening, and just taking time to be thankful for all our blessings!

I'm also entering the "Brads Buttons and/or Bows" challenge at Sentimental Sundays. The challenge is to use multiple of one or more of the specified items.  I used a lot of tiny brads on this card, plus a ribbon and a twine bow.

It's a Frosted Designs sketch challenge!

This week's challenge @ Frosted Designs is a sketch - one of my favorite types of challenges!  Here's the sketch:
:

Instead of using the sketch for a scrapbook page, I used it for a card.  (That's the great thing about sketches - they are so versatile!)  I just scaled the elements down a little bit and omitted the top banner, but kept the other elements. (papers and bingo card are from Simple Stories)

We'd love to see your take on the sketch.  Just link up your project to Frosted Designs for a chance to win a prize from this week's sponsor, Words or Whatever.
