My Favorite Things - Camp Create Day 5

It's the last day of My Favorite Things Camp Create, and today's challenge is all about glitter!  Probably like most of us, I like the look of glitter but hate the mess.  Luckily, Stephanie at My Favorite Things showed some techniques on getting the glittery effect without the mess.  Using those techniques gave me my final camp badge:

Here's my glittery Christmas card, using several types of sparkle:  stenciled background, glitter paper, Stickles, snowflake sequins and tiny crystal stickers.

The background was stenciled first with ink and the MFT cloud stencil, then the snowflakes were added with a dotty stencil and Nuvo clear glitter gel (similar to Stickles).  I've used stencils with paste, ink and sprays but never thought about using glitter glue or Stickles until Stephanie showed this in today's video.  The stamped images are from MFT's Jingle All the Way stamp set.

If you didn't get to join in My Favorite Things Camp Create this week, you have until July 27th to catch up....and there's a second week of camp coming up in August!

My Favorite Things - Camp Create Day #3

For Day 3 at MFT Camp Create, we are learning how to do shaker cards.  You can see the blog post here.  As an additional twist, you can make today a Christmas in July camp day!

I used stamps from MFT's "Jingle All the Way" set for this card, along with patterned paper from Doodlebug.  The images were colored with Copics and then I added a little clear Stickles to Santa's hat.   Here's the Day 3 badge:

I'm also entering this card in some Christmas challenges:
Jingle Belles Tic-Tac-Toe challenge (glitter/Santa/red or green)

My Favorite Things Create Camp Day #2

Day #2 at My Favorite Things' Create Camp is all about the embossed resist technique.  There are two techniques shown on the MFT blog, one with watercolor and one with inks.   I chose to work with inks to earn my Day 2 badge.
The background for this card was made with the MFT Plaid Background Builder stamp set, embossing ink and clear embossing powder.  After embossing, I sponged over the design with MFT inks in Summer Splash, Blueberry and Dill Pickle.

The elephant is from MFT's Adorable Elephants set, colored with Copic markers.   I think this elephant image is just too cute!

My Favorite Things Camp Create - Day 1

I'm a little behind, but joining in on the Camp Create event at My Favorite Things.   Gotta earn my crafty camper badge!

The Day 1 challenge is all about watercolor.  Watercoloring anything is a challenge for me, but after watching the MFT video, I got out my Twinkling H2O watercolors and gave it a whirl for this Halloween card.

I used a mix of blues and lavender for the sky, with a little bit of gold and silver and a couple of greens for the grass.  The Twinkling H2O's really add a nice shimmer to the background.  The images and sentiment are all from the MFT "Witch Way is the Candy" stamp set and were colored with Copics.

If you'd like to join in at Camp Create, you can check out the MFT blog here.
