My Favorite Things Create Camp Day #2

Day #2 at My Favorite Things' Create Camp is all about the embossed resist technique.  There are two techniques shown on the MFT blog, one with watercolor and one with inks.   I chose to work with inks to earn my Day 2 badge.
The background for this card was made with the MFT Plaid Background Builder stamp set, embossing ink and clear embossing powder.  After embossing, I sponged over the design with MFT inks in Summer Splash, Blueberry and Dill Pickle.

The elephant is from MFT's Adorable Elephants set, colored with Copic markers.   I think this elephant image is just too cute!

Baby girl card

I know a few people who are expecting over the next several months, so hopefully someone will have a baby girl and I can send this card!

The subway art portion of the card was cut from the Word Collage Cricut cartridge and the scallop square was from the Elegant Edges cartridge.  I embossed the background cardstock.

This is for a challenge over at the Turtle Soup forum and also for the current Cut It Up challenge to use a word or phrase as your focal point.

Welcome baby cards - Tuesday Morning sketches

I just discovered Tuesday Morning sketches, where a new card sketch is posted every Tuesday.  I needed a card to welcome a new baby boy, so I used this week's sketch, some Echo Park papers, and my Cricut and ended up making two cards.  (The Cricut cuts I used had positive and negative images, so I made two cards to use up all the cuts.)

The little giraffe is from the Cricut Sugar and Spice cartridge, and the sentiment stamp is from Technique Tuesday.  I think those little giraffes are just too cute!

Baby cards from Practical Scrappers!

Well, I thought I had this post scheduled to go up on Monday morning, but I didn't, so I'm posting this a day late.  :(

Our Monday theme @ Practical Scrappers was baby cards.  (There will be more baby projects posted on Wednesday, too.)  I try to keep a few baby cards in stock - for boys and girls - and this time I went for a boy card.  I used scraps of several blue papers, along with a transparency sentiment from Making Memories.

I added a ribbon bow and a little plastic diaper pin (sold in packages in the wedding/baby shower aisle @ Michaels).
