Friends like you are hard to find

Here's a card I made today for a couple of different challenges:

I used an embossing folder from Darice for the scallop frame.  The images and sentiments are from the January Let's Stamp Together kit from Scrapbook & Cards Today (this kit was designed by Gina K).  I did some ink blending on the background of the butterfly and then stamped black over the top and added some clear shimmer pen to the inside details of the wings.

This card will go towards these challenges:

Can You Handle the Pressure - dry embossing + things with wings
CAS on Friday - friendship
Cut It Up Challenge blog - clean & simple (diecut the butterfly & the word friends)
Die Cut Divas - anything goes

Flowers in January

I'm joining in a couple of card challenges, using some pretty florals to brighten up this cold dreary January. The floral image is a layering stamp set and matching die from Pinkfresh Studios and the sentiment is from Gina K.

I'm entering this in the current TicTacToe Challenge #145:

I used the middle row of white, embossing and oval.  I used two oval dies and two embossing folders - a dotted swiss one on the oval and a leaf swirl one on the white card front.  I'm also entering this in the Die Cut Divas floral challenge, using dies and/or embossing folders.

Die Cut Divas February challenge

The February challenge at Die Cut Divas is based on the theme "hearts and flowers".   I went with flowers and made this Easter card.

I used the Easter Jubilee set from The Greetery for this card.  This is a three-step card; stencils flower & leaf background, stamped flower & leaf detail, and then die cut Easter and die cut/stamped sentiment strip.  I used Distress Oxide inks on this one.

Monster Hugs!

I've been working on Valentines Day cards for my grandkids, and was inspired by the current challenge at The Library.

I love that little monster with the big heart, so used my Cricut and created this "Monster Hugs" card.

The monster is from the Close to My Heart Artistry cartridge and the heart balloon is from Create a Critter.  I added some google eyes and glitter spots to the monster.  The background was created with grass and cloud stencils from My Favorite Things and the sentiment was computer generated.

Everyone seems to be in Valentine mode this week, so I'm also entering this card into these challenges:

Die Cut Divas - hearts or flowers theme
Cut it Up - love is in the air
Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

A slightly unusual Valentines' Day card

So, what kind of Valentines' Day card do you make for your six year old grandson who is totally NOT into hugs, kisses, or anything cutesy?  I found a cut file that was perfect for him, so here's my slightly unusual Valentines' card.

The cut file was part of a bundle purchased from DesignBundles.net.  I just cut it with my Cricut, and added a little inking to the "poo" and around the edges.

I'm entering this into the current challenge at Die Cut Divas - anything goes with love theme.
