Cookie Challenge #164

It's been quite a while since I played along with the challenges over at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, so I wanted to start off the new year by taking part in their January challenge.  Even if you don't make cards, it's worth checking out their blog just for the cookie inspiration, lol!

Here is the inspiration piece for January:

I took inspiration from the colors, the polar bear, and the polka dots.  Here's my card with a friendly Christmas bear from My Favorite Things and a sentiment strip from Simon Says Stamp.

Love the bright colors on this one, and that Christmas bear is just too cute!  Thanks for the sweet cookie inspiration!

If you Give a Crafter a Cookie Challenge

The new challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, is to create a card from this inspiration photo:

Aren't those cookies gorgeous?  I would never have the patience to make cookies like that, but I did include a snowflake on my card.

The snowflake is a diecut that I backed with some patterned paper and glitter film.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

Have a bee-youtiful birthday!

This card was inspired by Challenge #92 at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie.   Here is the cookie inspiration photo:

Here's my card, using flowers, a bee and some yellow.

The bee is an older stamp from Unity and the flowers are from Altenew, all colored with Copics.  I made the sentiment on my computer.

I hope you get a chance to check out the challenges at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie.  Even if you don't participate, it's worth checking out the awesome cookies they use as inspiration!

Looking forward to Spring

It's getting closer to Spring, and the current challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie is definitely inspired by springtime!   Here is the inspiration cookie:

Isn't that just too pretty?  I just love all the cookie photos they use for inspiration on the challenges,

Here's my card for the challenge.

I used an old digital clip art stamp from PC Hug Club, and then colored it with colored pencils and Gamsol.  I was inspired to try this technique again after looking at all the creations in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker.  Definitely need more practice with this technique, but the soft look is really nice with this image.

Mother and Daughter - xoxo

I discovered two new challenge blogs this week (new to me anyway), and created this page to enter both challenges.

Colorful Creations is a sister challenge blog to Let's Get Sketchy, and they are hosting their first challenge - use black, white, and one other color on your project.   I chose to use black, white and pink on my page.

The current challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie is to make a project inspired by this photo.   I was inspired to die cut and create some polka dot heart embellishments on my page.

Here's my layout for the two challenges, with my sweet daughter and youngest granddaughter posing for the camera.  :)

I hope you get a chance to check out these two challenge blogs!
