Challenge #50 at Love to Scrap

Time for another "Anything Goes" challenge @ Love to Scrap!  Any theme, style, colors you wish, as long as there is at least one rubber or digital stamp used on your project.

Here's my card for the challenge, using the "Purrrfect Together" digital stamp from All Dressed Up Stamps, one of our sponsors for this challenge.

I wanted a mostly white kitten, so I just shaded around the edges with a warm grey Copic marker and then used three shades of yellow Copics on her bow.  The background paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and then I added some pearl hearts.  The scalloped oval is a Cricut cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge.

We have three sponsors for this challenge:  All Dressed Up StampsDRS Designs,  and Leslie Turner, who is the driving force behind the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog!  Link up your creation to the Love to Scrap Challenge Blog for your chance to win one of the sponsor prizes!

I'm also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week (use animals on a project) and the Moving Along With the Times bingo challenge (I used a diagonal row of die, image, pearls)

Creature Feature challenge @ Jingle Belles

The current challenge at Jingle Belles is to include some type of "creature" on your Christmas card.  I used these cute little penguins from Mama Elephant's "Polar Pals" set.

The background die is from Simon Says Stamp, and sentiment and tree are from Hero Arts.  I used some curved stitch dies from Paper Smooches to make the snowy hills, and then added some stickles and some touches of clear Wink of Stella glitter pen on the stamped images.

I'm also entering this in the Christmas Cards All Year Round Challenge, which is to create a card with no patterned paper.

Love to Scrap - Challenge #6 - pastels or primaries?

We have a new challenge up at Love to Scrap and you have your choice of color palettes; either pastel colors or primary colors.    Pastels are always hard for me to work with, so I took the easy way out and used primary colors on this card.  :)

Washi tape stamps from A. Jillian Vance Designs; sentiment stamp from Simon Says Stamp;
 patterned paper from Basic Grey

We'd love to see your project (will you choose pastels or primary colors?) so link up to the Love to Scrap blog.   You could win a $10 gift certificate from our sponsor, Fred She Said.

Simon Says Stamp challenge

This week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp challenge blog is in honor of their 4th birthday, so it's a happy birthday or celebration challenge.  For my card, I used their Falling Stars die on the card front, backed with yellow cardstock underneath.  I added a die cut yellow star and a stamped and handcut banner, along with some yellow gems and a bakers twine bow.

Star die: Simon Says Stamp; Stamps:  A.Jillian Vance (celebrate), Simon Says Stamp (YOU); diecut star:  Sizzix; Quick Quotes lemon chalk ink

I originally thought this die would be great as a background for Christmas cards or baby cards, but I think it works well for celebration cards, too.

Operation Write Home & Clear Snap

This weekend, Operation Write Home partnered with several stamping/scrapbooking companies for their Spring blog hop, which was all about creating masculine cards.   On their part of the blog hop, Clearsnap featured a video tutorial for creating an embossed image with a blended ink background.  You can see the tutorial here.

I used some stamps from Unity Stamp Co. and Simon Says Stamp, a Spellbinders die and embossing folder, along with some of the Clearsnap pigment ink pads in three shades of blue and teal for my version of this card.

If you're not familiar with Operation Write Home, you can read all about them here.  They do a tremendous job of collecting hand made cards from crafters everywhere, and sending them to our troops so they have cards to send back to their families.  It's a very worthwhile cause, so if you have extra cards in your stash, or some time to make a few cards, you should check them out.

Scallops, please!

The last Frosted Designs challenge for March is to create a project using scallops.  The kraft background on my page is made by punching strips with a large scallop border punch and then layering them on the cream background.  I also added scallop edge lace and some scallop circles to the flower centers.

PP:  Bazzil; Cardstock: Hobby Lobby; Chipboard:  Technique Tuesday; Stamps:  A. Jillian Vance Designs; "you" die:  Simon Says Stamp; Ink:  Quick Quotes Java chalk ink

We hope you will get a chance to join in our challenge.  Just link up your project to the Frosted Designs site for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor:  Spiegel Mom's Scrap Shop.
