Dashing through the Snow with Jingle Belles

The new challenge at Jingle Belles is "dashing through the snow" - showcasing, snowflakes, snowmen, snowy scenes, etc.

Here's my card for the challenge:

For the background, I used white texture paste with a snowflake stencil and then added clear glitter before the paste was dry.  After that panel dried, I adhered to the card front and added the stamped and colored snowman image, with just a bit of clear Stickles added to the fur on his hat.  Lots of sparkler on this one!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #292

Here is the challenge board for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #292:

I used the middle row for my card:  floral, free, white/cream

The barrel stamp & die is from Penny Black and the floral image and tag are from PaperTrey Ink.  I just wish my real flowers bloomed as well as these, lol!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #735

Here is the new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches:

I varied the sketch a little bit to include two larger squares at the top left and right corners.

Just a nice, bright, cheery card for someone.  Cards for Kindness is always in need of "hello" cards, so this will be perfect to send to them.

Color Hues Challenge #132

Here is the current Color Hues Challenge:

I went with paler hues of these two colors for my card.  After embossing the floral image onto white cardstock, I lightly inked the flowers in yellow and the background in blue, then adhered to a light blue card, and added a sentiment stamped in dark grey.  I used a clear shimmer pen to outline around some of the flower petals for just a little bit of shimmer.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown - May sketch challenge

Here is the May sketch challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

Here's my card for the challenge:

The image was stamped and heat embossed in gold, and then I added gold mats to the banners and the stamped image.

Mix It Up Challenge for May - stamped background

It's May 1st and time for a new Mix It Up Challenge!   This time our challenge is to create a stamped background on your project.

Here's my card, using a banner stamp from Avery Elle.

I stamped the banner five times in various colored inks, and then filled in the empty spaces with small star and burst stamps.  The final touch on the background was adding a few dots of clear sparkle pen.  The sentiment was die cut from black cardstock, using a combination of my Cricut and some alphabet dies from My Favorite Things.

You have until mid-June to join in our challenge.  Can't wait to see all your stamped backgrounds!

TicTacToe Challenge #291

Here is the new TicTacToe Challenge board:

I chose the top horizontal row for my card:  CAS, Die cut/punch, floral.

The rose was stamped and stenciled, then I backed it with a white diecut frame and added a sentiment and three clear dewdrops.  The rose image was actually much larger, so I just fussy cut a portion of it.

AAA Cards Challenge #313

AAA Cards is hosting a color challenge, to use at least three of the four colors below on your card.

I ended up using all four colors for my ice cream card.

I tried to match Olo marker colors to the four challenge colors, and then used a couple of inks to match the orange and blue violet colors for the confetti stamp.  Silver holographic paper was used to mat the card front and add a little sparkle.  I wouldn't normally have used these colors together, but it ends up with a nice mix of orange sherbet, strawberry ice cream and maybe a huckleberry ice cream, lol!

52 Christmas Card Throwdown - April Technique Challenge

The April technique challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown is an old technique, but it was new to me.  There is a tutorial on this technique here.

I used some painters tape that was about 1" wide, along with Lisa Horton platinum and rose gold metallic inks for my card.  I also added some gold metallic splatter.

The stamped image is from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous and the sentiment is from Pinkfresh.  This was an easy technique that gives a cool effect, so I'm sure I'll try it again.

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #572

The current challenge at Shopping Our Stash is "Up, Up and Away", so asking for projects that feature something you would see in the sky.

My card features a little bunny who just might be flying a little higher than anticipated with this balloon!

The balloon is diecut from the front and a piece of sequin fabric is attached to the back.  You can brush over the sequins to change the color.  I stenciled a cloud background and added sentiment strips.  I know a little girl who loves sparkles, so she'll love this card!

Freshly Made Sketches - Challenge #733

Here is the new sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

Here's my card for the challenge.  I guess I'm channeling a bit of summertime with the watermelons!

Christmas Crafts All Year Round - April challenge

The April alphabet challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year Round is "G" or "H".  Some ideas would be gingerbread, garland, greenery, house, holly, and the one I used "ho ho ho".

I used a coverplate from Catherine Pooler for the background, cutting it out of white shimmer cardstock with a red cardfront.  The Santa and reindeer images are from My Favorite Things, colored with Olo markers.  I added a little pearl Pops of Color to the fur on Santa's outfit.

Peace on Earth Challenge #110

Peace on Earth's April challenge is anything Christmas, but they've also posted this mood board for inspiration.

I was inspired by the trees and the snowy scene with the fence, so I used an old Power Poppy stamp set for this snowy village scene.  I used a scallop frame die and matte silver cardstock to frame the image against a warm gray cardfront.  Inspired by Jenn Shurkus to "glitter all the things", I used fine crystal glitter on all the snow.  It's very subtle, but adds some nice sparkle.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge #306

Here is the current challenge at Addicted to Clean & Simple

Since it's almost that time of year, I decided to do a graduation card and used a postage stamp edge frame.

The cap and diploma are layered stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps.  Now I'm ready for May graduations!

Christmas Kickstart Challenge #109

The current challenge at Christmas Kickstart is "brimming with style".... all about the hats!  I used a Simon Says Stamp set to make a little scene with Santa and his little helpers in their Santa hats.

The floor is a die from Penny Black.  It's great for putting together indoor scenes.  The table that the tree is on is actually a window stamp with the curtains and bottom frame cut away.  I added some clear Stickles to the fur on the Santa hats and colored Stickles to the Christmas ornaments.

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Make Someone Smile challenge

The April challenge at Sisterhood of Crafters is to "make someone smile", and they have this image as inspiration.

Inspired by the cute animals, I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets from the Ink Blot Shop for this card.

These cute farm animals always make me smile, so I hope they will do the same to someone else!

AAA Card Challenge #312

The current challenge at AAA Cards is a lift challenge.  Follow the lead from DT member Jane's card below:

Here's my card based on the above inspiration.  I used some vintage floral 6x6 paper and just added a stamped sentiment and a few copper brads. I used cream cardstock instead of white to match the vintage style of the patterned paper.

Color Hues Challenge #131 - coral and green

Here is the new challenge at Color Hues:

Coral was never one of my favorite colors, but lately I've gotten a little fonder of it, lol!  I think that comes from the shades of coral in Concord & 9th ink and cardstock.  That's what I used for this card, along with a stamp set from The Greetery.

I did a little stenciling on the white oval and some dry embossing on the coral cardstock.  No sentiment on this one, as it could be used for various occasions.

ABC Christmas Challenge - H and I

The current challenge at ABC Christmas Challenges is "H" for hat or "I" for image only.  I went with "H" for hat on my card, but it actually could also go for "I" since I didn't put any sentiment on the front.

The is an Anna Griffin image that I cut with my Cricut.  I used white, red and black shimmer cardstock, and then added some white Stickles to the fur on the hat.  I love the vintage 50's look of this Santa!

Jingle Belles vintage Christmas challenge

Jingle Belles' new challenge is all about a wonderful vintage Christmas.   I really love vintage, antique Christmas decorations so this challenge was right up my alley.

Here's my card, using the Tim Holtz Cozy Christmas set.

To give this image more of a vintage feel, I stamped it on watercolor paper and painted it with watercolors.  This just gives me a subtler touch of color.  I added some clear Stickles to the fur and a little bit of clear shimmer pen to the berries and candy cane.  Hmmm....I may need to find some Christmas sprigs and try to recreate this image as a table decoration.  Thanks to Jingle Belles for the inspiration!
