Fusion Card Challenge #6 - the sketch!

Back with another card for Fusion Challenge #6 - this time using the sketch as inspiration

This card was so simple to make - I used a journaling card from an Echo Park mini collection, matted it with orange cardstock, and adhered to yellow patterned paper that was also matted with orange cardstock.  I added a little shimmer to the journaling card by coloring the words and sunrays with Wink of Stella glitter pens, and then added some tiny gold beads to the card.  After this long, dreary winter, it was nice to work with some bright, warm, sunny yellows!

We're "Off the Edge" at Get It Scrapped!

Today's feature at Get It Scrapped has to do with going "off the edge" of your page with elements and embellishments.   For this page, I created two embellishment groupings that go off the edge of the page - one on the top left and one on the bottom right.   This creates a diagonal flow across the page, and going across the photo.  This photo is the only one we have of my paternal grandmother and her parents.  (My grandma is the little baby on her dad's lap)  I'm guessing this photo is from the very early 1900's, and I'm sure it was a really big deal to have a family photo made then.

Welcome baby cards - Tuesday Morning sketches

I just discovered Tuesday Morning sketches, where a new card sketch is posted every Tuesday.  I needed a card to welcome a new baby boy, so I used this week's sketch, some Echo Park papers, and my Cricut and ended up making two cards.  (The Cricut cuts I used had positive and negative images, so I made two cards to use up all the cuts.)

The little giraffe is from the Cricut Sugar and Spice cartridge, and the sentiment stamp is from Technique Tuesday.  I think those little giraffes are just too cute!

My turn to host a challenge @ Frosted Designs!

This month at Frosted Designs, we are doing a 12 Days of Christmas challenge.  From December 1st through the 21st, we are posting 12 challenges.  My challenge today is for the 5th day of Christmas, and it is to use five gold (or yellow) things on your project.   You can see the actual post (and all the previous challenge posts) at the Frosted Designs blog here.

On my page for the challenge I used yellow pearls, gold lace, a gold glitter pen to color in one of the title words, paper with yellow in it (the poinsettia centers), and twine with gold tinsel mixed in (tied through the buttons).

(Echo Park "Seasons Greetings" papers, Making Memories flower, Queen & Co. pearls, Doodlebug twine, Copic Spic glitter markers)

We have some great prizes to go along with our 12 Days of Christmas challenges, so I hope you'll join in the fun!  You have until December 31st to link up your challenge projects.

Today is "one word" Friday @ Frosted Designs!

This week's Fabulous Friday challenge @ Frosted Designs is to use a one word title on your page.  I thought this would be an easy challenge, but it ended up being a little harder than I expected.  In fact, I'm not sure the word I used is actually a real word, but it fit with the picture of my granddaughter trying on these silly glasses at Claire's.  She thought they were hysterical!

We'd love to see your pages this week!  Link up your project to Frosted Designs for a change to win a prize from this week's sponsor:  The Paper Trail.

Cardabilities Sketch #58

It's time for our last Cardabilities sketch for June, and the last one for the current design team members.  Here is sketch #58:
I cut the corners of my card to make it into a tag shape.
I trimmed the corners of my card to make it into a tag shape, then added a sentiment sticker and some punched borders to the front, along with a diecut flower and crocheted heart.

If you make a card from this week's sketch, please link it up to the Cardabilities blog for a chance to win this week's sponsor prize.  We'd love to see your work!

"Get Your Game On" blog hop @ Scrap-Friendzy!

Scrap-Friendzy is hosting a blog hop for Super Bowl weekend.  You can see all the details here!

Using the items mentioned along the hop, I made this page with photos of DGD having so much fun kicking a big pink ball around the backyard.  Simple childhood play - doesn't get any better than that!
